Santa for Seniors is a program that brings the holiday spirit to the elderly community of Elk Grove. Some of our community members would typically not have Christmas celebrations due to being in care homes, assisted living facilities and family being away. Santa for Seniors brings Christmas cheer and companionship to the several Elk Grove facilities every December.
In addition to delivering over 300 individual care bags, socks and blankets each year, Santa for Seniors also provides a “wish list” gift item to each facility. “Wish list” gifts are items that would benefit the seniors but may not be in the budget for the facility. Some of these items include MP3 players and headphones that are used in music therapy for Alzheimer’s patients, DVD players, tablets, movie projectors and more.
Employees from the Elk Grove Police Department and their families, join department and community volunteers to deliver gifts and spend time with the elderly recipients.
Monetary donations for Santa for Seniors are accepted year round and are used to purchase the gift items. To donate, please click HERE and type S4S in the Order Notes during check out.
